It is one of the most famous horror/thriller films and one of the best works of Alfred Hitchcock, who was the famous director of that time. It is very different to modern horror films, because it has a lot less violence, blood and action. However, it has an amazing atmosphere and a build up of tension, which is done through clever shots, edits and sound effects.
The most famous scene is the shower scene where Janet Leigh is murdered. It is considered as one of the most recognisable scenes in film industry. Alfred Hitchock’s main task was to show nudity and violence, which were not accepted in 1960’s films.
This was done by creating a very dark and scary atmosphere, clever edits (over 70 different camera shots were used), and an amazing score, which emphasized the killing.
I was very inspired by the movie, especially by the famous shower scene, and decided to use some of the elements in my title sequence.
Another movie was 'Saw '(2004)

It is a film produced by Twisted Pictures in 2004 and distributed by Lionsgate.
I think that in some ways it is similar to the film we are going to produce. Its an independent film which has teenagers as its target audience. It also features a very clever and unusual plot, combining the elements of slash horror, thriller and a detective movie. It was also made on a very low budget (1,200,000 USD), which meant that there were no amazing CGI effects used.
This movie is about a psychopath who is dying of brain cancer and traps his victims in different situations, in which they need to figure out the solution to save their lives. I think this movie is particularly scary because it addresses primal fears of human’s nature – that somebody can decide if we live or die instead of us or nature, especially if this person has nothing to lose, and has no reasoning behind his actions.
Saw also features a lot of blood and violent deaths, which is becoming more and more popular in modern moviemaking. I wanted to use some of that violence in my title sequence.
