As our story takes place in school, we decided to find suitable locations in Hurtwood House. There are couple of corridors in the main school. We decided to use two of them to add variery and movement in the sequence.
The first corridor is pretty dark and industrial looking - we will see it at the beginning of our title sequence. There isnt a lot of lighting there, which is good for a thriller movie because we are trying to create dark and mysterious armosphere. We took pictures of this corridor to help us with storyboarding and planning in future.
The second corridor is also in the main school, it is in girls dormitory. We were looking for a long corridor which had a wooden door in the end (changing room entrance), through which a killer would walk. The corridor suited our needs perfectly, however we felt that there was a bit too much light in it, so we switched some of the lamps off. The photos of the corridor were also taken on the location day.
The major part of our title sequence takes place in a boys changing room where the victim is killed in the shower.
We thought that our schools changing room was perfect as a location, we liled the showers and the interior of it. Howevertr downside was that the lighting was impossible tocontrol there, which made it look a bit too warm on screen. We decided to fix it in post production process.
Also there was not a sink in the changing room and we needed one for the final part of our sequence. We decided to use boys toilets next to it : it had the same lighting and interior style.
